Britney Spears has been rejected from starring in a Super Bowl commercial, but Kevin Federline, who she rejected, apparently has what it takes to sell... insurance.
The aspiring rapper, who is currently being divorced by Spears and could use some financial insurance of his own, is set to star in Insurance company Nationwide's Super Bowl ad.
Formally the least successful member of the marriage, K-Fed has blitzed his former spouses' popularity by getting the gig. However, the "Oops...I Did It Again" singer was refused an appearance in the NFL endorsement ad, with the league instead preferring to go with the more reliable choice of Paris Hilton.
As for Federline, he should not get too excited yet. Former company spokespeople include "model" Fabio and the all-but-forgotten rapper MC Hammer.
The 30-second long commercial also has an element of humor to it, playing on Fed-Ex's image of a failing R&B star. On screen, Federline will go from being a music star to working in a fast food place - which may have been his fate if this ad had not come along.
Nationwide vice president of advertising and brand management, Steven Schreibman, said, "No one has personified 'Life Comes at You Fast' in the media better than Federline. Our partnership with Kevin shows the world that he has a great sense of humor."
Federline's separation from Spears came soon after he launched his career with the album "Playing With Fire." The CD has failed to ignite his career beyond being Mr. Britney Spears and many shows throughout his U.S. tour were canceled due to lack of interest.
