Zac Efron does not give in to the paparazzi. The Hairspray star tells Details magazine his perspective on fame and how the paparazzi are waiting for him to just f**k up.
"It's weird, I don't feel like I deserve any of the attention," the 20-year-old heartthrob says. "There's nothing but one audition for a Disney Channel movie that separates me from 2,000 other brown-haired, blue-eyed guys in L.A., you know?"
Efron also says that he is quickly learning the trades of the business especially after his first paparazzi experience. He was photographed with High School Musical classmate and real life girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens while vacationing in Hawaii.
"I had no idea that anyone could ever care [what I was doing.] That happens to, like, big stars. I woke up and my dad told me that I was in a newspaper on the beach - he made fun of me, he said I was "frolicking.'"
Efron - who is set to star in the comedy film, Seventeen, with Matthew Perry - has something to say about the gay rumors started by tabloids and web sites, citing PerezHilton.com in particular.
"I know it's very addictive to read that kind of stuff. It's entertainment," he says. "He's doing something right, I think he does a great job.
"Honestly, if the worst he can say about me is that I'm gay, then I think I'll be fine. I can handle it."
The actor is also prepared for future attacks saying, "These days everyone is just waiting for me to f**k up. I'm not gonna give anyone the satisfaction of that."
