Antonella Barba has only just been introduced to fame, but she is already seeing the nasty side of it.
The "American Idol" contestant will have plenty to talk about with Paris Hilton at an industry event - should she be invited to one - after raunchy pictures of her have wound up on the Internet.
The singing contestant, who has survived round two in the talent quest, has been left red faced after pictures of her, both innocent and x-rated, have found their way into the public arena.
The 20-year-old New Jersey native could be booted from the competition, which has seen previous contestants go on to fame, fortune and awards.
Barba's best friend, who auditioned with her, has told PEOPLE that the singer will "represent New Jersey in a classy way." But with the nude photo scandal, Barba's immediate future as a singer could be in jeopardy.
"Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe told EW.com that he had not been made aware of a photo scandal.
He said, "We have really good background checks on everybody, and we deal with that every season. It's sad, isn't it, that your best friends are the ones that come forward with information that will go to Smoking Gun or put your photographs on the Web?"
