Jim Broadbent found it tough to tell Mia Farrow he was working with her ex-partner Woody Allen.

The 'Iron Lady' actor was delighted to be approached to appear in the director's 1994 movie 'Bullets Over Broadway' but says the situation was made complicated as the offer came at a time when he was working with the actress, who was locked in a complex custody battle with the filmmaker over their three kids.

Silent movie 'The Artist' cleaned up at last night's (27.02.12) Oscars, winning five awards.

The black and white film - which tells the tale of an old-Hollywood love story - was named Best Picture, while its star Jean Dujardin took Best Actor and Michel Hazavanicius took home the award for Best Director.

The Artist gets 12 BAFTA nominations

'The Artist' leads the nominations at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA).

The French silent movie - starring Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo - has received 12 nods in categories including Best Film, Best Original Screenplay, Leading Actor and Leading Actress, beating 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' which is up for 11 awards.
