Johnny Depp "Glad" He Didn't Have Children When He Married Before

Johnny Depp is glad he didn't have children with his first wife. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor admits he wasn't ready to settle down when he wed make-up artist Lori Anne Allison in 1983 and is pleased they never started a family.

The 46-year-old star - who now has two kids, Lily-Rose, 10, and seven-year-old Jack, with long-term partner Vanessa Paradis - said: "I'm glad I didn't have children until Vanessa and I got together."

Winona Ryder almost lost out on a role because she wasn't "pretty enough." The actress - who is regarded as one of the world's most beautiful women - underwent a dramatic makeover to convince movie bosses she was perfect to star in 1988 film "Heathers."

Talking about the movie, in which Winona plays a girl trying to join the popular group at school, said: "That was such as special movie for me, and still is. It was the first time I really went after a role. I'd really only done character roles up to that point, I'd never played a pretty girl.

Winona Ryder Admits She Had "An Extra-Large Breakdown"

Winona Ryder has revealed she had an "extra-large breakdown" when she was 20. The 37-year-old actress struggled to cope when she was catapulted to worldwide fame following the success of her hit 90s movies "Dracula" and "Edward Scissorhands."

Winona - who was arrested for shoplifting in 2001 - said: "I had just done "Dracula" and "Edward Scissorhands." I had just had my first real break-up, the first heartbreak. And I think it was really ironic because everybody else thought I had everything in the world.
