Drama erupted again on ABC's "The View as resident republican host Elisabeth Hasselbeck breaks down in tears during a heated discussion about a racial slur.

During the show's Thursday episode, the hosts were originally discussing civil rights leader Jesse Jackson's apparent use of the N word referring to Senator Barack Obama. The topic then turned to under what circumstances the word can be used inoffensively.

Janet Jackson will be honored by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) this month.

The 'Feedback' singer is set to be recognized by the organization for working to combat prejudice against sexuality in the music industry. She will be presented with the Vanguard Award by U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres at the organization's Media Awards in Los Angeles' Kodak Theater on April 26.

Patrick Swayze has pulled out of his new film.

The 'Dirty Dancing' actor - whose representative confirmed earlier this week he is battling pancreatic cancer - had previously decided to honor all work commitments, but producers of romantic comedy 'Fired Up!' have now confirmed he has quit the shoot.

Whoopi Goldberg won an Oscar for her role in the movie "Ghost" and she says she owes it all to actor Patrick Swayze. Goldberg, who is one of the hosts of "The View" said Thursday that when she won her Academy Award Swayze was one of the only people she really thanked.

Swayze, 55, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is undergoing treatment.
