Whitney Houston has been cleared of drug charges in Hawaii. The music icon's charges, stemming from a marijuana-related incident in 2000 have been dropped, reports say.

According to TMZ.com, the 44-year-old singer is now completely cleared of the charges.

In January of 2000, airport security in Hawaii discovered marijuana in her and then husband Bobby Brown's luggage. She was not arrested at that time.

Many believed Brown had been Houston's main drug influence, causing her downfall. She had vehemently denied smoking crack in an interview with Diane Sawyer in 2002. Brown and Houston's divorce was finalized in April.

Houston's comeback album is said to be coming out in December.
