Rod Stewart is ready to tie the knot and let go of being a bachelor. Let's see how long this marriage will last.

Rod is planning to marry fiancee Penny Lancaster in a lavish over $1 million dollar June wedding.

The 60-year-old rocker plans to spend a small fortune on the couple's big day which is set to take place at the exclusive Italian Riviera Portofino resort in June.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "It's all been planned for June 16 in Portofino. They have hired a venue in the town and he is going to charter a couple of private jets to get his guests there. It is going to cost a small fortune but he wants it to be a memorable day."

The nuptials will take place at the Hotel Splendido, the place where Richard Burton proposed for the first time to screen beauty Elizabeth Taylor.

Rod, 62, and Penny, 36, have reportedly invited a host of celebrities to their big day, including Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Sir Mick Jagger and Scottish comedian Billy Connolly. However, all the rumored guests have been sworn to secrecy about the wedding.

Paris Hilton - who is friends with Rod's daughter Kimberley - is also expected to attend.

Rod and Penny celebrated the birth of their first son together, Alastair, in November 2005.

"Maggie May" singer Rod - who has six other children from previous relationships - has been married twice before. His first wife was Alana Hamilton, with who he had Kimberly and a son, Sean. He was then married to model Rachel Hunter - they also had a daughter and a son.
