"Brokeback Mountain" is one thing that came between Mark Wahlberg and his Calvin's.
The former model and Oscar nominee has revealed he talked to Ang Lee about starring in the "gay cowboy movie." However, the tough guy eventually turned d,own the role, saying he didn't feel comfortable with the subject matter.
While Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhall went on to glory following the controversial love story, Marky Mark decided to go back to his roots and appear in Martin Scorsese's "The Departed."
The father of two said, "I met with Ang Lee on that movie, I read 15 pages of the script and got a little creeped out. It was very graphic, descriptive - the spitting on the hand, getting ready to do the thing. I told Ang Lee, 'I like you, you're a talented guy, if you want to talk about it more...' Thankfully, he didn't."
Wahlberg and his friend, "Gladiator" star Joaquin Phoenix, were both considered to play the two cowboys who fall in love. However, once the Oscar winning film was released, Wahlberg was not one of the people standing in line to see it.
He said, "I didn't rush to see 'Brokeback,' it's just not my deal... Obviously, it was done in taste - look how it was received."
