Vince Vaughn's romantic relationship with Jennifer Aniston may have ended for more than a year already but their friendship continues to this day. The 'Fred Claus' actor says his genuine connection with his 'The Break-Up' costar didn't break when they broke up in December 2006.
"I have such a great friendship with Jennifer," the 37-year-old actor tells Parade magazine. "Really, I still talk to her constantly. I have a real, genuine connection with Jen. And I have a real appreciation of her. That continues to this day.
"I always try to keep my relationship quiet and my work at the forefront."
The couple dated for a year and a half after Aniston's marriage to Brad Pitt ended. In February 2007, he had attended her birthday, thus confirming they have retained their amicable friendship.
"I haven't been someone to go and talk about those things, because that's not what I want to be known for. In regular life, people date, and sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't. We get more attention because we're more known."
Vaughn also says his "big kid" image doesn't affect his relationships. His roles in his movies like the 'Wedding Crashers' and 'Old School' have made the public see him as immature.
"I've been fortunate that the women I've dated seriously get used to it, because I think I'm attentive and aware in other ways."
"It hasn't hurt my relationships. It's not a big deal. With relationships, for me, the biggest foundation always is that you can laugh with each other, that you have fun with each other, because life is made up of all the little moments. Of course, I also got better at communicating," Vaughn says.
