Village People lead vocalist Victor Willis underwent throat surgery on Monday, which forced him to delay his solo tour.
The voice of the 57-year-old "cop" of the concept disco group became hoarse after performing last year. According to his publicist, Linda Smith, the problem continued until he decided to undergo a surgical operation to fix it.
Smith said in a statement, "Victor's surgery was a success, and the benign nodules were successfully removed."
He is currently recuperating in a hospital in San Diego. He plans to move his Europe and Canada concert dates for this fall.
