Velvet Revolver's members are "relieved" Scott Weiland is now no longer part of the group, according to lead guitarist Slash.

The band had announced Weiland's departure after their show in Amsterdam. Slash reveals the band is glad Weiland, who is reuniting with former band Stone Temple Pilots, has left their band.

He tells RollingStone.com, "Everybody's just very relieved. This is something that's been coming down for a while."

He adds, "Basically, we're just excited about finding someone else and moving on."

The rocker also says the Velvet Revolver already has someone in mind to replace Weiland. "We actually worked with a guy, I won't mention his name, before we left to go to the U.K. and there just wasn't enough [time] to break him in, so we're gonna work with him again som more."

Weiland has left the group after constant public bickering between him and the rest of the group. Slash had said, "This band is about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either."
