Spencer Pratt was ''very anti-marriage'' before he met Heidi Montag.
The reality TV stars started dating in 2006, marrying two years later, and 29-year-old Spencer admits meeting someone as ''pure hearted'' as Heidi, 26, was a huge shock because of his previous experiences with ''awful women''.
He said: ''I never wanted to be loving or have a girlfriend or get married. Before I met Heidi I was very anti-marriage. I had been round so many awful women who had all the wrong motives. I was shocked when I met someone as good and pure-hearted as Heidi. The girls in Los Angeles were like the characters out of 'Mean Girls'. Heidi is from a town with a thousand people and no traffic lights. She grew up valuing deeper things.''
Heidi was astonished at how deeply she fell for Spencer, and claims she knew immediately that he was the man she wanted to marry.
She said: ''I had mostly brief relationships before Spencer. I always felt like the guy was more into me than I was into him. It was all a game to me until I met Spencer. He was from a different world. It just felt heavenly. I never knew I could be so intimately in love with a man. When I met him I told everyone I wanted to marry him. Everything about him is perfect.''
