LeAnn Rimes is ''starting over'' after leaving rehab.

The 30-year-old singer - who completed a 30-day stint in an in-patient facility for stress and anxiety in late September - insists she is ready to begin a new chapter of her life and feels fortunate to have been given another chance to do so.

She said: ''I feel like I am starting over even though I've had all these years behind me. How many people get to [start] over again in this day and age?''

The 'Can't Fight the Moonlight' hitmaker admits she was ''hurting so badly'' before entering rehab, but she failed to see why people kept questioning why she was ''struggling'' despite receiving negative comments from online trolls about her relationship with her husband Eddie Cibrian, who she began a fling with while they were both married to other people.

Speaking to Katie Couric on an episode of her talk show 'Katie' - which is due to air later this week - she added: ''People look at you and go, 'Why are you struggling?' ... No one can quite understand why you hurt so badly.''

But LeAnn - who shot to fame as a successful country artist during her teenage years - recently admitted she enjoys talking about her problems in rehab.

She said: ''I've been in therapy my whole life. I like going.

''I like being able to have that third-party input and someone to listen that has nothing to do with your life.

''Everyone has an opinion of how I am and how I should be, and now I'm focusing on how I want to be.''
