A man arrested outside Miley Cyrus' Los Angeles home has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.
Jason Luis Rivera was apprehended in September - reportedly armed with a pair of scissors - after police were called when he was found on Miley's property and found subsequently guilty of trespassing and running from police in court on Thursday (11.10.12).
He appeared in court again today (12.10.12), where he was refused probation - though the reasons why are unknown - and given the maximum sentence for the offense.
Rivera is currently in custody and will begin serving his sentence immediately.
The temporary restraining order - which prevents Rivera from going near the actress and her home - was not extended as part of the sentence, but Miley has been urged to rectify the situation.
Deputy City Attorney Joshua Geller told TMZ: ''I advised [Miley's] legal team to get a restraining order immediately.''
The 19-year-old singer and actress was not at home at the time of the incident.
Determined Miley has told pals she will not be scared away from her gated mansion because she has such a good security team around her.
A source recently said: ''She doesn't plan on moving from her home and will not allow crazy people ruin her life.
''When she is home, she has her own security team that she trusts and is confident they would protect her.
''She will not be affected by the incidents that have happened recently at her house. She is relieved that no one was injured and hurt but moving is not an option.''
