Justin Bieber wants to prove he is more than just a ''teen heartthrob''.
The 18-year-old singer - who is well known for his teenage girl fanbase - gets ''annoyed'' people place him in the category and believes he should now be considered an adult thanks to his new album.
He said: ''I feel like I just don't want to be another teen heartthrob. I just think that just annoys me. To think that's what people will - will think of me - or, like, I just want to prove people wrong.
''My new album 'Believe' has really showcased what I'm capable of - especially becoming an 18 year old, and becoming an adult. And hearing older people say, 'Wow, this new album's great. Like I didn't know that was Justin Bieber.''
Despite a legion of adoring fans and millions in the bank, Justin still dreams of one thing - a Grammy award.
Speaking in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on 'Today' which will be aired in full on Thursday (13.09.12), he said: ''That's something that I've always - when I was little, like, 'Oh my God, like what if I won a Grammy?' That would be crazy. So that's one of the things that I'm still striving for.''
