Simon Cowell is Louis Walsh's favourite celebrity because he's ''normal'' even though he has ''funny clothes and hair''.
The 'X Factor' judge has been friends with Simon for years and has worked with him on many projects and he insists he is a great star because he is a ''self-made man''.
Speaking in a special video for 'heat extra: TV & Pop special' free with this week's heat magazine, Louis said: ''Simon's my favourite celebrity because I know him so well and he's actually very normal. I know he has funny clothes and hair but he is very normal.''
''The best thing about Simon is that he is a self-made man and I like people who are self-made and get where they are on their own merit.''
Louis, 59, added that his close friend and former 'X Factor' UK panellist Sharon Osbourne ranks a close second, because she is also self-made and strong-willed.
He joked: ''Don't cross her though, or she'll throw water over you on live TV like she did to me!''
