Sheryl Crow has thanks fans for their support after it was revealed she is suffering from a brain tumour.

The Grammy Award-winner - who has previously battled breast cancer - announced on Monday (04.06.12) that she has a common form of brain tumour called a meningioma but has been quick to assure her supporters that she is feeling good and is busy working on a new record.

She wrote on twitter: ''Hey everyone - don't worry about my 'brain tumor,' it's non-cancerous. Feeling healthy, happy & working on my new record.

''Appreciate the love and support, I'm fine, really! Watch me on @TheTonyAwards this Sunday night!''

While 50-year-old Sheryl's doctor says she doesn't need surgery, she told Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Chief Medical Correspondent for CNN that the star is getting regular scans to keep tabs on her condition.

Her representative said: ''Half of us are walking around with [meningioma] but you don't really know unless you happen to have an MRI.

''[Sheryl] has no symptoms and everything is fine. It was a random mention during the interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone. She is doing great and is healthy and happy.''
