Britain's Queen Elizabeth arrived at the service of thanksgiving today (05.06.12) without her husband by her side.
The 86-year-old monarch was greeted by cheers from the waiting crowd outside London's St Paul's Cathedral but Prince Philip was noticeably absent after being hospitalised yesterday (04.06.12) with a bladder infection.
She was instead accompanied in her car from Buckingham Palace to the cathedral by her lady-in-waiting Diana Marion, The Lady Farnham.
As soon as she got out of her car, the queen - who is celebrating 60 years on the throne - was met by her son Prince Charles, his wife the Duchess of Cornwall, grandsons Princes William and Harry and William's wife, Duchess Catherine.
Today's service marks the end of four days of celebrations across the UK for the queen's Diamond Jubilee, which will end with a balcony appearance from her and close members of the royal family at Buckingham Palace.
During the service - which was attended by most members of the royal family - British Prime Minister David Cameron gave a reading and hymns were sung.
Philip, 90, will remain under observation at King Edward VII Hospital in London, where he was taken on Monday as a ''precautionary measure''.
In December, he was treated at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge for a blocked coronary artery.
