Adam Levine: Jennifer Love Hewitt is an aggressive flirt

Adam Levine has joked that his admirer Jennifer Love Hewitt is an ''aggressive'' flirt.

The 'Client List' actress - who split with 'Eagle Eye' actor Jarod Einsohn last month - recently confessed to having her eye on Adam, who also happens to be back on the market having just parted ways with model Anne Vyalitsyna.

She said: ''I always have my eyes out. I just read two days ago that Adam Levine is single again ... I'm just saying. Look, we would be cute.''

And Adam admits it is always nice to hear that somebody finds you attractive, even if they are quite forward.

Appearing on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' he laughed: ''I heard about that. That was aggressive.

''It was really sweet and flattering. Beautiful life, you know, when a beautiful woman says nice things about you.''

But still nursing a broken heart following his split from Anne - who he dated for two years after meeting at the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue release party in Las Vegas in early 2010 - he declined Ellen's offer to matchmake, telling her: ''I'm cool.''

Anne announced the split in a statement earlier this month, telling fans: ''Adam and I have decided to separate in an amicable and supportive manner. We still love and respect each other as friends. I wish him all the best.''

The pair were rumoured to have had a giant bust up in February, although the 'Moves Like Jagger' hitmaker - who has previously dated Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz and Maria Sharapova - vowed to make the relationship work.

He said: ''This is the most functional relationship I've ever been in. I don't want to screw it up.''
