Thandie Newton gets scared of following trends.
The stunning actress admits her palms go ''sweaty'' at the thought of being bang-on trend so instead chooses clothes that suit and flatter her.
She told People: ''The idea of following trends makes my palms sweaty. I think that we have all these wonderful things available, and you have to find whatever speaks to you in terms of style - something that allows you to then speak to the world.''
Thandie, 39, also says it's important for her to have a low maintenance beauty routine because it's hard being a busy mother-of-two.
She said: ''If I'm getting ready for the school run and I look in the mirror and I just look exhausted, I will get some Julie Hewett cheek rogue.
''I'll put that on the apples of my cheeks to make it look as though I've had a wonderful run in the morning - even though I haven't!''
Thandie recently revealed her secret beauty weapon is turmeric as she believes the spice is an excellent addition to a moisturiser to help match her skin-tone.
She said: ''Olay does a great tinted moisturiser that I add a little turmeric to - making it more yellow depending on my skin tone and the season.
''That's a great trick for all women who find that foundations are too ashy or too pink for their skins. And it's anti-inflammatory. It's my secret weapon.''
