Nicki Minaj says being a pop star is as hard work as ''running a big top-notch company''.
Despite what ideas people have about fame, the 'Starships' singer insists it's not easy being a musician and she puts a lot of hours into making her career a success.
She said: ''It's a lot of work, a lot of sleepless nights. It's almost like running a big top-notch company.''
Nicki has just released her second album 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' and she says it is an LP that represents what it's like to be a woman.
The 29-year-old rapper - who was the first female artist to have seven singles in the US Billboard Hot 100 at the same time - is extremely proud of the record and worked very hard on it.
She told UK TV show 'Lorraine': ''To me it (the album) represents every woman that I've ever met. It's something that applies to every mood and every relationship and every feeling. It's just I think it's the best one that I've ever done.''
