Brandy says that the death of Whitney Houston has ''destroyed'' her heart.
In a statement to Us Weekly magazine, the 32-year-old singer and actress revealed that: ''My heart is destroyed. I lost my idol and dear friend. My prayers go out to Whitney's family and her millions of fans around the world. Whitney -- the greatest voice of all time -- you are my angel and I will always and forever love you.''
Whitney Houston passed away on Saturday (11.02.12), the very day of Brandy's birthday.
Brandy was supposed to meet up with Whitney and celebrate with her at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy award party. Instead, she spent the night drenched in tears upon learning of her death.
The two became friends when they starred alongside each other in the television production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical 'Cinderella' in 1997.
Recently, there were reports that Whitney was romantically linked to Brandy's little brother Ray J, but they were never confirmed.
Reports say it's most likely that Whitney's funeral will be held on Friday (17.02.12), at the 18,000-seater Prudential Centre, in her hometown of Newark, New Jersey.
