The Jackson family are ''saddened'' by the passing of Whitney Houston.

Relations of the late 'Thriller' singer Michael including sister Janet have said they will miss the 'I Look To You' hitmaker - who died on Saturday (11.02.12) - but hope the public give her family time to heal from their loss.

In a statement released to X17online.com, the family said: ''We honour and celebrate the life of one of the world's most gifted vocalists and talented entertainers, Whitney Houston.

''Although we are all saddened by her sudden passing and will miss her, we respectfully ask everyone to please consider her family at this time of difficulty by granting them the patience and comfort they need to mourn their loss in peace.''

Stars have been pouring in tributes since Whitney was found dead at the Beverly Hilton hotel, with Beyonce recently saying it was ''painful'' to see her pass.

She said: ''The loss of Whitney Houston is painful. I remember meeting Whitney for the first time when I was 15. She was the ultimate legend. The ultimate woman.

''Not only was she confident, poised, stunningly beautiful and intelligent, but she was sincere and kind. She took the time to make everyone feel like they were very important to her.''
