Kate Hudson's estranged father is desperate to meet her children.
Bill Hudson - who was married to Kate's mother, Goldie Hawn, until1980 - hasn't spoken to his daughter since 2005 and he is keen to make amends as he would love to form a relationship with her two sons, Ryder, eight, and six-month-old Bingham.
He said: "I haven't met any of my grandchildren, but I'd like to meet them one day. I hope to make amends."
Bill, 62, admits there was a time when he and Kate had reconnected but their relationship fell apart once she married Ryder's father Chris Robinson, who she was with from 2000 until 2006.
Speaking about his relationship with Kate - who is now engaged to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, the father of little Bingham - and her brother Oliver, Bill said: "By 2005 it was back to absolute nothingness. I regret that I was absent from their life for a long period of time. I should have fought harder."
Bill has written a tell-all book, 'Two Versions: The Other Side of Fame and Family' and says it's dedicated to Kate and Oliver.
He told RadarOnline.com: "The book in some ways is an apology to Oliver and Kate. They're my children. They're not celebrities to me."
