Giuliana Rancic says revealing she is to undergo a double mastectomy has been a "sigh of relief".
The 'E! News' presenter - who revealed she was suffering from the early stages of breast cancer in October - explained her last day on screen will be Monday (12.12.11), and it has been "nice to finally get it all out there".
She told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM 102.7 radio show: "I'll be on 'E! News' Monday and then I'll be out of your hair for two weeks.
"I felt good. It was good; it was a sigh of relief to be able to talk about it. You never know why I miss a day here or there because I try to keep everything a secret. It is nice to finally get it all out there."
The 36-year-old star opted for the procedure after a double lumpectomy failed to fully remove cancerous growths in both breasts and her lymph nodes, and admitted her decision came down to choosing between life and death.
Giuliana said: "To be honest, all it came down to was choosing to live and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life. It could have come back more aggressively next time, so for me it was just more important to get the cancer out.
"With the double mastectomy I now have less than one per cent chance of getting it back, otherwise it was 20, 30 or 40 per cent chance and for me it wasn't worth it."
