Joss Stone believes Lady Gaga's crazy clothes overshadow her talent.

The 24-year-old singer is a fan of the eccentric pop superstar but thinks her outrageous outfits and unique look actually detract from her musical abilities rather than enhance them.

She said: "I know the shock value is good and gets people to watch you, but actually [Gaga] can sing songs and she can play piano, and it just feels like [her look] might overshadow what talent she does have."

Gaga is as famous for her wild fashion choices and shocking onstage antics as she is for her songs and some of her more unusual outfits have included wearing a dress made out of meat to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and arriving to this year's Grammys in an 'egg'.

Joss insists modern female singers have been inspired to make unusual fashion statements and to use their sexuality to sell records by Madonna.

The 'You Had Me' hitmaker told the New York Post newspaper: "(Madonna) was not the best singer in the world, but she was awesome with . her shock tactics . She inspired all sorts of other girls to do that."

Joss recently formed the group SuperHeavy with Rolling Stones singer Sir Mick Jagger, Eurhythmics star Dave Stewart, reggae artist Damian Marley and composer A. R. Rahman.
