Katie Price didn't understand her boyfriend Leandro Penna when she first met him.
The former glamour model - who met the Argentinean hunk earlier this year - admits the couple needed the help of an online translator because he could not speak English when they first began getting together.
She said: "When I met Leandro, thank God for Google Translate because he couldn't speak a word of English."
However, Katie - who has been married twice, first to singer Peter Andre and second to wrestler Alex Reid, with who she split earlier this year - has been able to communicate more easily recently thanks to both of them taking lessons, although he is showing more commitment in language learning.
Speaking on UK TV show 'Loose Women', she said: "Leandro has a teacher so he can speak English now and I said I'd learn Spanish but I've only had one lesson.
"And now his family are coming over as we're all going on holiday together in a week, so I've asked for my teacher to give me a few phrases at least so I can communicate with them."
Katie - who has children Harvey, nine, Junior, six and Princess Tiaamii, four - also reveals the couple are private about their relationship because Spanish-speaking Leandro doesn't like doing interviews.
She added: "This is the first guy I've been with who is not interested in doing any interviews, he's private.
"In south America he's very famous. He's got a clean cut, private image which is why you don't see interviews with him."
