Carine Roitfeld is aware of her resemblance to rocker Iggy Pop.
The former editor-in-chief of French Vogue admitted people often compare her to the 64-year-old 'Real Wild Child' hitmaker, famed for his olive skin, bulging veins, heavy-build, long flowing blonde hair and prominent eyebrows.
She told the Financial Times newspaper: "People always say, 'You look like Iggy Pop.' I don't know if it's the eyes or the hair, anyway, he has a great style."
While the resemblance between Carine and Iggy may be purely physical the rock star - often referred to as the Godfather of Punk - is famed for cross dressing in the 70s, wearing fur and leather, eyeliner and tight spandex leggings and trousers, also often in leopard print, to shock his audiences. He also once caused a stir by appearing at UK music ceremony the BRIT Awards in see through trousers.
French-born Carine said she is so taken with comparisons between her and Iggy she is planning to hire him to star in an upcoming project where she styles clothes on some of her closest friends and family, in a celebration of herself. The project will be displayed at US department store Barney's.
She added: "They suggested, and I love this, 'to celebrate me' during September fashion week in New York."
In the UK, Iggy can be seen as the face of insurance company Swiftcover's campaign, starring alongside a puppet version of himself.
