Jack Black donated $10,000 so a school band could perform at Disneyland.

The high school and middle school musicians from Tonasket, Washington, won a competition to play in the famous Magic Kingdom parade - which features all the best known Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse - at the Los Angeles theme park but were told they had to pay for their own travel expenses.

A fundraising initiative was started by the local community to get together the cash to send them, and when Jack's mother Judith found out about their situation she contacted her famous son who quickly decided he wanted to help.

The actor - who put together his own band in the comedy movie 'School of Rock' - then handed over the huge sum to make the trip possible.

According to website TMZ, the band arrived in Los Angeles on Thursday (11.03.11), following a two-day coach trip, and will take their spot in the parade today (11.03.11).

Afterwards, generous Jack - who is married to cellist Tanya Haden, with whom he has two sons, Samuel, four, and two-year-old Thomas - is taking the kids for an all-expenses paid dinner.
