Ryan O'Neal was happy to be omitted from long-term partner Farrah Fawcett's last living trust.

The actor says his relationship with the 'Charlie's Angels' actress - who lost her battle with cancer in June aged 62 - was based on love and respect and had nothing to do with financial gain.

Ryan - who has a 24-year-old son, recovering alcoholic and drug addict Redmond O'Neal, with Farrah - said: "Mine and Farrah's relationship was based on a deep love and respect for one another and for our son Redmond. "After discussing how her financial affairs would be handled in the event of her passing we agreed that our son Redmond would be the primary beneficiary of her estate.

"These were Farrah's wishes and I am perfectly happy with them. I sincerely hope that everyone will remember and celebrate the legacy that Farrah left behind, and will now let her rest in peace."

In the trust - which was last updated in August 2007 and appeared to be signed by Farrah - she reportedly left $4.5 million to Redmond and $100,000 to ex-boyfriend Greg Lott, who recently claimed he was the star's secret boyfriend but had been banned from seeing her by Ryan.

Her close friends Alana Stewart and Craig Nevius - who chronicled the actress' cancer battle in TV documentary 'Farrah's Story' - were not named in the document.

Farrah passed away at St. John's hospital in Santa Monica, California, on June 25.

Ryan and Farrah's 15-year relationship ended in 1997 but the pair reunited in 2006 shortly after she was diagnosed with cancer.
