Cameron Douglas' reported girlfriend has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle him heroin. According to court papers, Kelly Scott attempted to pass the illegal narcotic to Cameron - who has been arrested on suspicion of dealing methamphetamine and is the son of Hollywood star Michael Douglas - in an electric toothbrush while he was being detained at home after a court hearing.
Kelly was arrested at New York's Hotel Gansevoort, where Cameron was detained last month, on Monday.
Cameron was under house arrest at a family property in New York when the alleged incident took place.
The house is being monitored by a security firm, and a guard is said to have heard a phone conversation in which Cameron asked for the toothbrush on Monday.
A federal complaint states Cameron, 30, seemed "to be very concerned about when the toothbrush would be delivered."
Another minder has said he was given a brush just days before.
Kelly arrived later the same day with a bag full of items including the toothbrush.
A guard searched the item and found "19 glassines containing a brownish substance that appeared to be heroin."
The complaint adds a field test has shown the substance to be around seven grams of heroin.
However, conflicting reports suggest Kelly allegedly gave the item to Cameron at a New York federal court, where he was due to attend a hearing on Monday.
Kelly's hotel room was searched following her arrest and substances believed to be heroin, crystal methamphetamine and marijuana were discovered.
Cameron is accused to trying to sell tens of thousands of dollars of methamphetamine, and faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum period of life if found guilty.
It is alleged Cameron - who appeared alongside his father and grandfather Kirk Douglas in 2003 movie "It Runs in the Family" -couriered the drug from California to New York between 2006 and 2007 and called the drug "pastry" and "salts."
