Britain's Prince Harry drank a £400 [$670] cocktail on a night out. The prince joined stars from the Chelsea soccer team at London's Whisky Mist nightclub as they celebrated teammate Salomon Kalou's birthday on Wednesday night.
The 24-year-old royal sent Kalou's table a bottle of £650 [$1,000] champagne before tucking into the venue's signature Quaich Trophy cocktail.
The pricey drink is shared between four people, who drink a mixture of champagne and spirits from a silver Victorian trophy cup, which is then engraved with the drinker's name.
It is not known who Harry - who was partying with close pal Guy Pelly - shared his cocktail with but both his and the soccer side's antics did not go unnoticed.
A source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "Clearly money was no object. The drinks just kept coming and coming. At one point they ordered a magnum bottle of champagne and just sprayed it all around the VIP area."
"Prince Harry had wanted to spend the night in the VIP section but was told he couldn't as it had been hired by the footballers. In the end he had his own party in another private section of the club although a few players came over and said hello during the evening."
"Some of the footballers were with their girlfriends but there were some very drunken women competing for attention from the players and draping themselves around them."
While Harry seemed to be enjoying his evening, he was later urged by radio presenter Kelly Osbourne to try out a new venue.
The source added: "Prince Harry was chatting away to Kelly Osbourne. She is helping to launch a new night at Mahiki, which is one of his favorite clubs, and was telling him how they have filled the club with sand to look like a beach and that he should come along and see it."
