Jay-Z is writing a novel. The hip-hop mogul is set to write a book, but his wife Beyonce Knowles insists it's not an autobiography as he would never divulge secrets about their relationship.

She said: "I think he's doing a book - but it is not a biography."

"A book about our love story is never going to happen."

The '99 Problems' rapper is not the first celebrity to write a non-autobiographical book.

Madonna has released a series of children's books, with titles including "The English Roses," "Mr. Peabody's Apples" and "Yakov and the Seven Thieves."

The books strive to teach lessons Madonna has learned through her involvement in Kabbalah - a mystical off-shoot of Judaism - as well as lessons she has learned throughout her life.

In 2007, Geri Halliwell signed a six-book deal to write a series of children's novels based on the adventures of nine-year-old Ugenia Lavender and her friends.

The first book was released last year and the former Spice Girl described the book as "a rebirth of girl power."
