Simon Pegg has become a father for the first time.
The 'Star Trek' star's wife Maureen McCann has given birth to a girl, but no other details about the new arrival are yet to be released.
Speaking about becoming a father, Simon has previously said: "It's the most important thing to me. I'm very excited. I want to be a really good dad, a good influence and a good role model - someone my child can turn to - whatever the hell that means. It's all to do with your attitude and making sure they stay grounded, but making sure they aren't deprived of anything."
Simon and Maureen married four years ago, and the 39-year-old actor has some experience with children as he is godfather to close friend Chris Martin's five-year-old daughter Apple with actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
The 'Hot Fuzz' star also previously claimed work commitments would mean his baby would have to be born in the US.
British-born Simon said: "We're going to have an American baby. It wasn't necessarily what we wanted. The only good thing is that our baby could be President one day." I t is not yet known whether the baby was actually born in America as planned, or whether the couple have chosen a name.
