Hilary Duff Joins "Gossip Girl"

Move over Serena and Blair. Hilary Duff is moving to the Upper East Side.

The former "Lizzie McGuire" star has made some grown-up appearances on shows like "Law & Order" and "Ghost Whisperer" but Entertainment Weekly reports that Duff will be joining a multi-episode arc of "Gossip Girl," the hit CW show.

Duff will play Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU for a traditional college experience. But when she rooms with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr), she'll find there's nothing traditional about it.

Duff reportedly had an opening in her schedule after NBC passed on her pilot, "Barely Legal."

Duff will appear in the fourth season's fourth episode, which is scheduled to debut on Monday, October 5th.
