Farrah Fawcett was mourned by 200 friends and family members at a private funeral yesterday. Those close to the "Charlie's Angels" star - who lost her battle with cancer last Thursday - including her long-term partner Ryan O'Neal and son Redmond O'Neal, gathered at Los Angeles' Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles for the service.

Farrah's best friend Alana Stewart gave the eulogy, saying: "Goodbye sweet girl. Farrah never felt sorry for herself during her illness - she fought cancer furiously."

"She's the most beautiful angel in heaven. She always seemed so indestructible."

Ryan and Redmond - who was allowed to leave California's Pitchness Detention Center, where he is being treated for drug addiction, for the service - helped carry Farrah's coffin, adorned with yellow and orange flowers, into the cathedral and both gave readings during the service.

Farrah's doctor Lawrence Piro also delivered a eulogy. A man in a kilt played 'Amazing Grace' on bagpipes to mark the beginning of the funeral.

After the service, guests - including Farrah's ex-husband Lee Majors, "Charlie's Angels" stars Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd, and Jackie and Joan Collins - were taken to a reception at the Jonathan Club, where a band played the actress' favorite songs.

Fawcett passed away aged 62 at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica with Ryan, Alana and Dr. Piro by her bedside.

Paying tribute to the actress, Ryan said after her death: "Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."

Farrah was initially diagnosed with cancer in 2006. Although doctors believed it had been successfully treated, the illness returned in May 2007 and had recently spread to her liver.

Her battle with illness was chronicled in the TV documentary "Farrah's Story" earlier this year which received nearly nine million viewers.
