Farrah Fawcett is now resting with the angels, says her former "Charlie's Angels" co-star. The 62-year-old actress lost her fight against anal cancer Thursday and actress Jaclyn Smith believes Farrah is now being looked after in heaven.

She said: "Farrah had courage, she had strength, and she had faith. And now she has peace as she rests with the real angels."

Kate Jackson - who appeared alongside Farrah and Jaclyn in the hit 70s TV show - says she will always remember how happy Farrah was despite the pain she suffered during the final stages of her life.

She said: "When I think of Farrah I will remember her kindness, her cutting dry wit and, of course, her beautiful smile."

"Today when you think of Farrah remember her smiling, because that is exactly how she wanted to be remembered."

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner said Farrah - famed for her flicked out blonde hair and enviable figure - was the ultimate pin-up and was the "Marilyn Monroe" of the 70s.

He added: "Men fell in love with her and women wanted to look like her. She had a magic that never went away. She became a part of the pop culture."

Family friend Tori Spelling - whose late father Aaron Spelling produced "Charlie's Angels" - felt privileged to know Farrah.

She said: "Farrah was an inspiration to all, and had the most amazing spirit. She was one of the kindest, sweetest and funniest women I've had the privilege of knowing, and I'm proud to have called her a friend. Her smile will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with her family."

Christina Applegate - who has survived breast cancer - also reacted to the news, posting on her Twitter page: "Today please donate money to a great cancer organization for research. This damn disease has taken another. We must find a cure. Farrah RIP."

Other stars to pay tribute to Farrah included Demi Moore, Nicole Richie, Marie Osmond and William Shatner.
