Britain's Prince Andrew spent hours "chatting up" a rich socialite in New York on Wednesday night. The 49-year-old royal shocked onlookers at trendy East 54th Street restaurant Monkey Bar when he made a beeline for fashion heiress Valesca Guerrand-Hermes and spent the whole evening by her side.
Sources told America's New York Post newspaper the Duke of York seemed "fixated" on Valesca, and couldn't stop staring at her.
An insider said: "Andrew was chatting her up all night. He didn't leave her for a second. He was clearly very taken with Valesca, and she certainly didn't seem to mind the attention either!"
Andrew - who has two children, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson - faced criticism recently, when he splashed out £200,000 [$330,000] on a petrol-guzzling luxury car.
The prince - dubbed Air Miles Andy for his love of private jets - was blasted by environmental groups and struggling taxpayers alike, but claimed the vehicle was a "completely justifiable" expense.
