Meg White has got married. The 34-year-old drummer and her guitarist lover Jackson Smith wed in a double ceremony held in the garden of Meg's White Stripes bandmate Jack White's home in Nashville last Friday.

Also tying the knot was Jack Lawrence - who plays bass in Jack's other bands, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather - and his partner Jo McCaughey.

The nuptials took place in front of a small selection of the couples' close friends and family.

Meg and Jackson - son of punk rocker Patti Smith and her late musician husband Fred Smith - announced their plans to tie the knot earlier this month.

Her representative said at the time: "I can confirm Meg and Jackson will be married some time this year."

Meg - who was previously married to Jack, who she divorced in 2005 - had reportedly wanted the ceremony to be as quiet and intimate as possible.

The drummer is notoriously shy, with the White Stripes' forced to cancel their 2007 tour because she was suffering from "acute anxiety."
