Former football player Vinnie Jones was found not guilty of assaulting a man during a bar brawl in South Dakota on Friday.
The 44-year-old British actor had been accused of punching Juan Trevino-Barrera three times in the head in December 2008.
The fight allegedly started when Jones tried to join a game of pool with Trevino-Barrera and another Wiley's Tavern bar patron. J
ones, who acted in the 2006 mutant film "X-Men: The Last Stand," then took offense when he was asked if he was "that guy from X-Men."
Trevino-Barrera claimed Jones hit him in the head in the scuffel.
However, Jones argued in the one-day trial that he was just acting out of self-defense. He was struck in the face with a beer glass by one of the complainant's friends.
He told The Daily Telegraph following his not guilty verdict, "We came here today and told the truth, and the people of Sioux Falls saw through that. They saw through Barrera and his antics."
"I stood up for myself that night and I stood up for myself today. And justice has prevailed."
Vinnie Jones is currently cast in several upcoming films and rumored to be cast in the movie, "Return of the Ripper", which is currently in pre-production.
