Hugh Jackman imagines he is Wolverine when he is training.
The 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' actor claims the only way he can ensure he pushes himself to the limit when he's in the gym is to pretend he is the mutant anti-hero.
Hugh, who sports an incredibly muscular physique in the new movie, said: "I work out imagining I'm Wolverine. Wolverine to me is the guy that when everybody else quits, that's where he begins. I think that's why people love him."
The 40-year-old actor - who was named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine last year - admits it took him a year to get in shape for the action-packed film, adding he also had to overhaul his diet.
He said: "I think we've wiped out entire gene pools of chickens. To any vegetarians out there, I really apologise."
Hugh, 40, has previously revealed his wife Deborra-Lee Furness was appalled by the way his body changed for the film - because he made her look bad.
He said: "She gets very annoyed. She says, 'A husband's job is to be fat and flabby and make me look fabulous.' She said I wasn't living up to my end of the bargain."
