Oprah Winfrey had gone solo on the cover of O Magazine for nine years before sharing the spot for the first time with First Lady Michelle Obama. Now, she's chosen a second person who's going to share the cover with her: Ellen DeGeneres.

DeGeneres has been campaigning for the spot on her own television show, including imposing herself on past O Magazine covers and selling autographed copies of O magazine where Ellen signed the name Oprah in her gift shop. Winfrey surprised her with a live via satellite video appearance on Friday's episode of Ellen's show.

"I am calling to officially invite you on the cover of O," Winfrey said. "I didn't even want to call because I've had so much fun watching you putting yourself on various covers. We will coordinate our outfits so we don't clash. Maybe I'll wear pants, too."

A shocked DeGeneres graciously accepted. "I can't believe you're serious about this. I'm freaking out right now."

"I'm serious about this," Winfrey told DeGeneres. "I believe that when you dream it and conceive it, you can have it and achieve it." A date for DeGeneres' appearance on the cover has not been announced.
