Pete Doherty is heartbroken his dad won't see him.
The Babyshambles frontman is desperate to reconcile with his father Peter who vowed in 2005 to cut all ties until he is clean of drugs for good.
The rocker is quoted as saying: "It's breaking my heart that for him the be-all and end-all of our relationship is whether or not there's something despicable in my bloodstream. I'm coping mostly and I'm mostly clean, I won't lie to you it is a struggle. My dad and I are estranged. In his mind if I'm still using in any way then I'm not his son. But my mum speaks to me secretly."
The 29-year-old musician reunited with his army officer father briefly in 2007 following his stay in The Priory rehab clinic for heroin and crack cocaine addictions.
But this was short-lived when the troubled singer relapsed, ending their brief reunion.
Pete explained: "He saw it as a complete betrayal and that I was upsetting my mum, my grandmother and my sisters. He saw it as selfish."
"I'd love to spend time with him like we used to or just go for a drink."
Despite his numerous personal problems, Pete - who used to date supermodel Kate Moss - is determined to remain head-strong and focus on his musical career.
He added: "I've got a deep rooted determination to write great songs. I'd like to imprint a melody, a song in people's heads and have them think of me."
