Ricky Gervais wants to adopt an adult. The British comic star - who has been with his partner Jane Fallon for 25 years - has joked he wants to open his home up to someone who can pay their own way.
He quipped to the Sunday Times Magazine: "Children give you nothing back. Spongers! I said we could adopt, but I wanted to adopt a 30-year-old lawyer who's already paying rent."
Ricky - who is the youngest of his siblings by more than a decade - was given a shock by his parents in his early teens when he was told birth was an "accident."
He said: "My mother told me when I was 13, 'You were an accident.' Cheers! I had older brothers and sisters, so I was a bit of an experiment."
But the 47-year-old star says being the baby of the family gave him a well-rounded upbringing.
He added: "I suppose I had the best and worst of both worlds. I had to fight to be heard and was bullied and teased and maybe a bit spoilt."
