Recent Grammy winner John Mayer's birthday gift to girlfriend Jennifer Aniston for her 40th birthday on February 11 is a new song. The news was confirmed by the winner of "Australian Idol" season one, Guy Sebastian, via a twitter post.
"Had to stop recording cause Mayer wanted to borrow his band back to record a song for Jennifer in the studio... All the girls go...awwwwww," so Guy wrote, without revealing any further details.
Aniston reportedly threw a birthday party last Saturday night with best friend Courteney Cox and Cox's husband David Arquette as rumored guests. There is no word yet on whether Mayer has sung her the song yet.
A source also told People that "he did write a special song just for her for her birthday." Mayer celebrated two wins at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, bringing his career total to seven.
Mayer has previously written songs for other women including his former love interest Jennifer Love Hewitt. His 2002 smash hit "Your Body Is a Wonderland," got the singer a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
