Jennifer Love Hewitt, who split from fiance Ross McCall earlier this month, is embroiled in a custody battle over her dog.
Despite an amicable split from fiance Ross McCall earlier this month, neither party can bear to be separated from their boxer Mona.
Jennifer is even believed to be resorting to dirty tricks to win the pooch's loyalties.
A source revealed to the New York Daily News newspaper: "Jennifer is even attempting to change Mona's name so that when Ross calls, the dog won't come."
Jennifer has previously revealed the couple put another of their dogs, cavalier King Charles spaniel Charlie, on anti-depressant drug Prozac after the pet began behaving oddly.
She said: "Charlie started doing this weird, like, intense licking thing, where she would, like, lick the air. She's got an anxiety disorder, so they put her on Prozac. Now, she's as happy as can be."
