Ben Affleck says his newborn daughter is "doing great." The "Gone Baby Gone" director is in Washington to support incoming U.S. President Barack Obama, but he can't stop thinking about two-week old Seraphina Rose.

He said: "She's gorgeous! She's doing great."

Ben and his wife, "Alias" star Jennifer Garner - who have another daughter, three-year-old Violet - offered no explanation for their latest baby name, but a website specializing in the origin of names says Seraphina is derived from the biblical word "seraphim," meaning "fiery ones."

Jennifer has previously spoken of her love of motherhood and Ben's excellent parenting skills.

The 36-year-old actress said: "You know how as a kid you picture yourself with a tall, handsome husband, and you imagine him cuddling your baby? Ben is like that."

"Violet prefers him to anyone. He's a teddy bear of a guy. Nothing makes me happier than to see the two of them together and her little hands on his face. He has a prevailing calm."
