Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have named their newborn daughter Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck.
While no explanation for the name was offered following the couple's announcement, one website specializing in the origins of names says Seraphina is derived from the biblical word 'seraphim' - which is Hebrew in origin - meaning "fiery ones."
Ben and Jennifer have already shown they are fans of flower-themed girls' names.
Seraphina Rose Elizabeth - who was born in Los Angeles on January 6 - will be little sister to the couple's other daughter, three-year-old Violet.
Jennifer, 36, has previously spoken of her love of motherhood and Ben's excellent parenting skills.
The "13 Going On 30" actress said: "You know how as a kid you picture yourself with a tall, handsome husband, and you imagine him cuddling your baby? Ben is like that."
"Violet prefers him to anyone. He's a teddy bear of a guy. Nothing makes me happier than to see the two of them together and her little hands on his face. He has a prevailing calm."
