Britney Spears' former manager claims she has made her comeback too soon.
Johnny Wright - who has also worked with Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and the Jonas Brothers - insists Britney should not be attempting to resurrect her career yet, and should instead be concentrating on getting her life back on track, following her breakdown last year.
He said: "A comeback is not what I wish for Britney. All her essential relationships have been torn apart. She's been divorced twice, she doesn't have custody of her kids, she is being pushed back into being a money machine."
"It's too soon for her to be a part of a manufactured machine that is pushing her to have to be a success."
Britney released her latest album Circus to critical acclaim last year, and is set to embark on a world tour later in 2009.
Although Britney has regained career success, her father Jamie and her attorney Andrew Wallet have officially been given permanent control of her personal and professional affairs.
Johnny insists the 27-year-old star should be allowed to get her personal life in order before she embarks on a grueling series of shows, adding he does not think her heart is in the comeback.
He added to America's OK! magazine: "In the beginning, in her mind, she could stop at any time. Now she's thinking, 'I've got 170 people on payroll, my dad quit his job, my mom relies totally on me and I can't take a break.'"
"When a parent becomes an employee of a child, they worry about getting fired, so they stop being parents in order not to get laid off."
"Britney has to rival Madonna out there, but Madonna really wants to do it. Seeing Britney do it by the numbers isn't a good sign. It means she might not want it as much as those around her do."
Jamie and Andrew were made temporary co-conservators of her estate following her breakdown, which resulted in her losing custody of her two sons Sean Preston, now three, and Jayden James, two. The conservatorship became permanent on January 5.
